Delivery Lead

At DevOcho, we pride ourselves on helping companies with custom software solutions that bring increased value to their businesses and the lives of their employees. Headquartered in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, we are a software development company that takes pride in delivering the top solutions to our customers. We work hard and have fun, too, with monthly events and a great team culture.

The opportunity

As a Delivery Lead, you own the full lifecycle of a feature, from discovering and defining what the customer needs, to leading the technical team that builds it. You wear two complementary hats: as a Business Analyst you elicit and document requirements and shape the work to be done, and as a Scrum Master you coordinate the team and the customer to deliver that work on time and at a high standard. You will learn “The DevOcho Way” method of delivering software projects (a modified Agile Scrum process) and run it end to end for your team.

We are looking for someone who is detail oriented with a coaching mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate business needs into buildable requirements. Ideally a person who is also technically minded or has worked closely with highly technical people.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Scrum Team to consistent successful feature delivery, squash bugs, and wow customers
  • Own every detail of a project and manage it using advanced software project management tools
  • Manage the “DevOcho Way” process for your team to ensure that all projects are consistently delivered and tracked
  • Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements directly with customers
  • Translate business needs into clear, well-formed user stories with acceptance criteria
  • Own and continuously refine the product backlog in partnership with the customer
  • Map current and future-state business processes to surface gaps, risks, and scope creep early
  • Lead the Feature Planning Ceremony to define and specify features one sprint ahead of development
  • Facilitate the Feature Approval Ceremony, walking customers through completed work and securing sign-off
  • Define and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with the customer
  • Produce supporting artifacts as needed (wireframes, process flows, and basic data analysis)
  • Ensure that all work is captured accurately and completely in the team software project management tool
  • Provide accurate reports to superiors to show project health and team velocity
  • Effectively follow up on team and customer communication when required
  • Coordinate the incident management process in the event of an outage, including outside teams, vendors, internal IT resources, and customer communication
  • Provide clear and meaningful communication to customers, vendors, and teammates
  • Effectively plan and prioritize tasks, ensuring team members have a clear understanding of their responsibilities and deadlines
  • Identify obstacles or bottlenecks that may be impeding the progress of the team and take appropriate actions such as removing impediments or escalating issues
  • Travel to the USA for customer site visits (at least one week per quarter) and for sales support if required

Ideal profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, computer science, or an equivalent discipline, or equivalent work experience required
  • 3+ years experience managing software projects (bonus points if using the Agile Scrum process)
  • 2+ years experience in business analysis or requirements gathering (may overlap with the above)
  • Demonstrated ability to write user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications
  • Comfortable facilitating discovery workshops and bridging business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Strong analytical thinking — able to break ambiguous business problems into buildable requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas and information in both meetings and in written form
  • Ability to effectively use Google Workspace communication tools and technologies (e.g., Gmail, Google Drive, Google Slides, Google Sheets, Google Docs, etc.)
  • This candidate must be able to work in a team environment, fostering collaboration and coordination to ensure the successful support of the assigned projects
  • You love to manage projects and balance tasks and requests across the team
  • Familiar with software project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure Boards) or task management software (e.g., ClickUp, Monday.com, Trello), and with requirements or diagramming tools (e.g., BPMN, Lucidchart, Miro, Draw.io) or similar.
  • Detail oriented and able to closely follow the DevOcho Way process to ensure consistency with the rest of the company
  • Able to travel to visit customers in the USA
  • Fluent or advanced ability in English and Spanish (both verbal and written)
